FAQs
Questions you want answers to…
Do you really make everything from scratch?
ABSOLUTELY! I make all dough, icing, and accent details from scratch with tried and tested recipes. No, I don’t actually mill the flour or lay the eggs, but I do make everything else! The entire process is extremely time-sensitive with making the dough, baking the cookies, and layering on icing while allowing it to dry between each detail. It’s a labor of love which results in some pretty amazing cookies!
What flavor are your cookies?
I make a shortbread-ish vanilla sugar cookie. The frosting is vanilla with the slightest hint of citrus! I do not currently offer other flavors because I have yet to make anything taste quite as delicious as the original. But don’t worry, I’m POSTIVE you will love the flavor!
What about allergies?
This is tricky because there are so many allergies and the degree of severeness differs from person to person. In general, I do use dairy and gluten products. Please contact me if you have a question about specific allergens.
When should I place my order?
As early as you possibly can to ensure a spot on the calendar. I’m only one person and fit cookies in during my off hours from the office, so having plenty of notice is key! I typically ask for at least two weeks, although exceptions can be made on occasion if time allows.
How much is a cookie?
Cookie prices vary and are based on the size and design of the cookie. Cookie prices average $4-$6, depending on the complexity of the design, number of colors and the amount of detail.
How do I place an order?
You can place an order through the contact page on this website or by contacting me, Erin Colleen Smith, at (732) 882-3949 or order@SugarDoughs.com. Please include the following details with your order: name, email, cell phone, desired items, and date you need the cookies to be finished. Once your order is confirmed, we can work out the payment details.
I received broken cookies, now what!?
I’m so sorry! Unfortunately, cookies are fragile. I do take special care in packaging but unfortunately minor breakage does happen on occasion. If you need a certain number of cookies for your event, I do recommend ordering extra as a precaution. Also, store bought icing can be used to “glue” the cookie back together if needed.
